Welcome to WCHS

Serving Homeopathy in BC since 1995

The West Coast Homeopathic Society of BC (WCHS) was founded to serve the homeopathic community in British Columbia, representing the professional and political interests of qualified homeopaths and promoting homeopathic awareness and education.  The Society was founded on the basic principles and practices described by Samuel Hahnemann in his book, The Organon of Medicine.

Greetings from the Board!

During 2024, West Coast Homeopathic Society remained active in the homeopathic community, both in BC and nationally and internationally.

  • We nominated our long-time Office Administrator, Judy Chorney, RCSHom for the National Center for Homeopathy’s 2024 Martha Oelman Community Service Award, in recognition of her over 20 years of exemplary volunteerism to our Society.  Congratulations to Judy Chorney for this well-deserved recognition!  See Judy’s Acceptance Speech video.
  • We expanded our virtual exposure to interested viewers around the world through our online homeopathic book discussion groupfree  Professional Education webinars, and quarterly e-bulletins now sent to nearly 2,000 addresses across Canada and many other countries.
  • We continued promoting the national Homeopathy Awareness Month in April.  This year's theme, Homeopathy and Our Families, focused on the potential benefits of homeopathy for all ages, from the newborn to the elderly.  Our participation incorporated both virtual and in-person events across BC, as well as many promotions featuring 20% discounts on consultation fees.
  • We sponsored another enthusiastic Summer Potluck Social, this time in Victoria.
  • We revived our sponsorship of public awareness with a very successful information booth at the 3-day Women's Expo in Abbotsford

This year marks our 30th anniversary representing the interests of professional homeopaths in BC.  We plan to celebrate with many events during the year, including a return of the full-day in-person Conference weekends in April 2025.  Watch here and on our Facebook page for updates and new developments.

We also plan to continue with our varied online offerings, as well as new YouTube visual podcasts.

If you love to read, you are welcome to join our lively online book discussions of interesting homeopathic titles.  Purchase or borrow a copy to read in advance and then let us know of your interest at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  We will send instructions to join our live zoom calls currently on four Sundays during the year at 1 pm Pacific / 4 pm Eastern.

Practicing and student homeopaths from around the world are invited to a virtual series of Professional Education lectures.  Check our WCHS quarterly e-bulletin or our Facebook page for details about upcoming events.

Now expanded to more than just WCHS members, Talking Homeopathy! is an informal monthly zoom call that covers whatever homeopathic topics are of interest at the time.   Ask for details and access codes at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  for these lively discussions on the last Wednesday of every month at 5 pm Pacific.

So whether you’re a practicing homeopath or a home-user or someone just investigating homeopathy, we hope that in the coming year you will find the tools and support through West Coast Homeopathic Society that aid in your understanding of and commitment to homeopathy.

New information and dates are posted here and on our Facebook page throughout the year!

Two memberships in one!

Membership in West Coast Homeopathic Society is linked to that of Canadian Society of Homeopaths (CSH) through an Affiliation Agreement signed by both Societies.  In this way, a single application provides membership in both related provincial and national associations.

Membership application goes through Canadian Society of Homeopaths - please check their website to get more information about national benefits, fees, and application forms.

Canadian Society of Homeopaths was created in 2006 by the Board and members of West Coast Homeopathic Society in response to recent political events and in order to better represent the interests of the WCHS membership that had grown to span the country.  CSH established a national Professional Register that represents qualified Canadian homeopaths and assures the public of high professional standards and accountability.  CSH also took over co-ordinating projects that affect members in all provinces - such as Membership, Homeopathy Awareness, Media Response, and Advocacy - leaving affiliates like WCHS to focus on community building and local implementation of membership and professional concerns.

The WCHS Board can confidently recommend Canadian Society of Homeopaths to our members because we have been closely involved in its creation.  In 2005, our Board became the founding Board of Directors of CSH.  With the help of a Steering Committee and by using WCHS as a template, we replicated the effective WCHS organizational structure and philosophy of inclusiveness as key elements of the new Canadian Society of Homeopaths.

This website will help you become familiar with West Coast Homeopathic Society, our goals and philosophy, and our commitment to supporting and representing the homeopathic profession in BC; to promoting public awareness and education; and to speaking up for homeopathy in the face of political or media challenges.  If you like what WCHS has done in BC, you will like what Canadian Society of Homeopaths is doing across the country.

The WCHS Board invites you to read more about Canadian Society of Homeopaths and to take this opportunity to join both Societies at the same time.
