Welcome to WCHS

Serving Homeopathy in BC since 1995

The West Coast Homeopathic Society of BC (WCHS) was founded to serve the homeopathic community in British Columbia, representing the professional and political interests of qualified homeopaths and promoting homeopathic awareness and education.  The Society was founded on the basic principles and practices described by Samuel Hahnemann in his book, The Organon of Medicine.

Greetings from the Board!

During 2024, West Coast Homeopathic Society remained active in the homeopathic community, both in BC and nationally and internationally.

  • We nominated our long-time Office Administrator, Judy Chorney, RCSHom for the National Center for Homeopathy’s 2024 Martha Oelman Community Service Award, in recognition of her over 20 years of exemplary volunteerism to our Society.  Congratulations to Judy Chorney for this well-deserved recognition!  See Judy’s Acceptance Speech video.
  • We expanded our virtual exposure to interested viewers around the world through our online homeopathic book discussion groupfree  Professional Education webinars, and quarterly e-bulletins now sent to nearly 2,000 addresses across Canada and many other countries.
  • We continued promoting the national Homeopathy Awareness Month in April.  This year's theme, Homeopathy and Our Families, focused on the potential benefits of homeopathy for all ages, from the newborn to the elderly.  Our participation incorporated both virtual and in-person events across BC, as well as many promotions featuring 20% discounts on consultation fees.
  • We sponsored another enthusiastic Summer Potluck Social, this time in Victoria.
  • We revived our sponsorship of public awareness with a very successful information booth at the 3-day Women's Expo in Abbotsford

This year marks our 30th anniversary representing the interests of professional homeopaths in BC.  We plan to celebrate with many events during the year, including a return of the full-day in-person Conference weekends in April 2025.  Watch here and on our Facebook page for updates and new developments.

We also plan to continue with our varied online offerings, as well as new YouTube visual podcasts.

If you love to read, you are welcome to join our lively online book discussions of interesting homeopathic titles.  Purchase or borrow a copy to read in advance and then let us know of your interest at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  We will send instructions to join our live zoom calls currently on four Sundays during the year at 1 pm Pacific / 4 pm Eastern.

Practicing and student homeopaths from around the world are invited to a virtual series of Professional Education lectures.  Check our WCHS quarterly e-bulletin or our Facebook page for details about upcoming events.

Now expanded to more than just WCHS members, Talking Homeopathy! is an informal monthly zoom call that covers whatever homeopathic topics are of interest at the time.   Ask for details and access codes at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  for these lively discussions on the last Wednesday of every month at 5 pm Pacific.

So whether you’re a practicing homeopath or a home-user or someone just investigating homeopathy, we hope that in the coming year you will find the tools and support through West Coast Homeopathic Society that aid in your understanding of and commitment to homeopathy.

New information and dates are posted here and on our Facebook page throughout the year!

Serving Homeopaths and Homeopathy in BC since 1995

From our inception, the purposes of the West Coast Homeopathic Society have been the following:

  • Expand the visibility and recognition of homeopathy through print and electronic formats, as well as public events
  • Co-ordinate our public education programming to inform and educate the general public about the benefits of homeopathy
  • Facilitate the study of homeopathy through self-study & the Internet, lectures & informal study groups, and formal education
  • Provide a directory and referral service of professional members in BC to help the public locate a qualified homeopath in their communities
  • Support professional homeopaths in BC, which since 2006 is co-ordinated through affiliation with the Canadian Society of Homeopaths
  • Strengthen the sense of community among our members and with members of other homeopathic groups
  • Increase the profile of Classical Homeopathy within the alternative health community
  • Continue to monitor and respond to developments by governments and other organizations that affect the availability of homeopathic medicines and Classical homeopathic treatment in BC
  • Inform members of recent developments in the field of homeopathy and upcoming events and educational opportunities across Canada

West Coast Homeopathic Society is managed entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to advancing the understanding, informed use, and availability of homeopathy in British Columbia.  Our members are our greatest asset, working on committees and projects to co-ordinate, prepare, and put into action the many initiatives of the Society.  One member in particular is Judy Chorney -- Membership Secretary extraordinaire -- who co-ordinates all our activities, supervises many of our large projects, and promptly handles the dozens of queries that come into the office every week.

Volunteering

An enthusiastic team of volunteers is the life-blood of a non-profit society such as ours, which directs all its revenue towards activities that support our aims and vision for the future of homeopathy.  Read MORE about volunteering!

Supporters

From the very beginning of our Society, the homeopathic business community has provided generous support.  As a result, WCHS can offer our members a number of membership benefits, including discounts from individuals, businesses, and organizations.  In particular, a select group of pharmacies and natural health outlets provide discounts to our members on all single remedies.  See list of Retail Supporters.

Fundraising

Some of these homeopathic businesses and many members have generously donated funds and gifts in support of WCHS Fundraising projects.  This additional source of revenue makes it possible for the Society to expand its activities while maintaining affordable membership dues.  Read MORE about our fundraising projects!
